With more than 25 years of experience in the M&A space, Mårten Willamo has advised a broad range of industries, supporting both private equity investors and industrial players in carrying out successful acquisitions and sales.

He has extensive experience working across Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, and is fluent in all Nordic languages, making the region his core market. His practice focuses on advising private equity investors and industrial companies on both cross-border and national transactions, as well as complex restructurings of large industrial businesses. Known for being solution-oriented, he is recognised for strong negotiation and project management skills that help bring transactions to successful completion. His support extends beyond closing, continuing throughout the lifecycle of the investment.

Before joining Bird & Bird, Mårten worked for a leading Nordic law firm in Helsinki before relocating to Stockholm in 2006. He has also spent time on secondment in Copenhagen, Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius.

Martin Folke is a Corporate Partner and Co-Head of Bird & Bird’s Stockholm office. He advises a wide range of corporate clients, with a primary focus on emerging startups and growth-stage companies in both domestic and cross-border fundraising and transactional matters.

With extensive experience in corporate transactions and legal advisory, Martin supports clients across acquisitions, divestitures, corporate governance, and venture-related matters in the Swedish market. He specialises in advising technology-driven companies at the forefront of digitalisation and disruptive innovation, and is recognised for his pragmatic, results-driven approach.

Before joining Bird & Bird, Martin worked with both Swedish and international law firms in Stockholm.

Christian Bartsch is the Chief Executive Officer of Bird & Bird, based in London. He has many years of experience managing client relationships and projects across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on emerging and disruptive technologies.

Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Christian advises clients on strategic alliance relationships, change management, consulting and managed services agreements, systems integration deals, and network procurement. He also regularly delivers keynote presentations on quantum computing and AI.

Christian has extensive experience guiding suppliers and customers through the lifecycle of business process and technology outsourcing, often with an international dimension. He has a particular interest in the Indian outsourcing market and frequently visits India to stay ahead of the latest developments. Over his career, he has also undertaken secondments with clients across finance, consulting, technology, and manufacturing, acting as a collaborative extension of in-house legal teams.

In recognition of his expertise, Christian was named to The Lawyer Hot 100 in 2022.
