The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK has appointed Peter Sandberg its new Managing Director. Peter will replace Ulla Nilsson who has decided to step down from the role in pursuit of other opportunities after six years with the Chamber.

Peter will join the Chamber from the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) where he has held the position as Director of Commercial Development & Membership since February 2013. Prior to the BVCA, Peter spent two years in New York at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce where he was the Director of Program & Events.

Peter also has direct experience from the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK as he held the role as the Communications Manager in London between 2008 and 2011.

Peter will assume the role on July 17.

Jan Olsson, Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK, said: “I would like to thank Ulla for her fantastic work over the last six years. Ulla has constantly worked to improve and develop the services of the Chamber and has done an excellent job in doing so. We wish her all the best for the future.

“We are extremely happy to have Peter join us as the new Managing Director of the Chamber. Peter has vast experience from working with Member organisations where he has been involved with recruitment, retention, events and communications. Peter will be a great asset to the Chamber and we are confident that he will move the Chamber forward and continue the great relationship with the Anglo-Swedish business community.”
