Are you a Nordic health-, med- or biotech startup or scaleup looking to learn more about the UK? Do you want to help turn the life science scene greener and grow your business in one of the world’s most forward striving medical markets? The SCC, British Embassy Stockholm and Department for Business and Trade, are proud to present Ecosystem Exchange: Life Sciences 2023.

Sweden and the UK is a world leading duo within the area of life sciences, and the bond grew even stronger through the Memorandum of Understanding the two countries signed last year. With its ground-breaking research and large investments, the UK offers countless opportunities for businesses looking to expand and explore new markets.

This is why the SCC, together with the British Embassy Stockholm and Department for Business and Trade, is calling the brightest and most innovative startups and scaleups to take part in our business exchange programme Ecosystem Exchange: Life Sciences – a sustainability focused business exchange within the UK medical and pharmaceutical industry.

In a two-day programme, the participating businesses will be introduced to the British ecosystem within health-, med- and biotech, connecting entrepreneurs, stakeholders, investors and industry partners.

10 selected companies will be coached through masterclasses and inspirational speeches, and get the opportunity to meet with important stakeholders in the industry, such as other founders, entrepreneurs and investors – all preparing them to take their business to the next level.

The programme will help businesses increase the understanding of the UK funding ecosystem, include networking with investors, entrepreneurs and key stakeholders. Topics to be covered include operational set-up in the UK, the UK marketing and investment landscape, as well as the regulatory environment.

Last but not least, the companies will partake in a delegation visit to the world-renowned life sciences hub in Cambridge.

The programme will:

  • Help you identify market opportunities, trends and challenges
  • Introduce you to the NHS and the life sciences ecosystem
  • Increase your understanding of the regulatory environment and main regulators
  • Explain the UK procurement process and clinical trials
  • Give valuable insights to the current market outlook for investments in the UK
  • Help you gain unique insights from seasoned entrepreneurs
  • Provide you with suggestions of useful contacts

When is the programme taking place?

The programme will start with a virtual kick-off on 28 March, followed by two half-day sessions on 30 March-31 March 2023.

Where is the programme taking place?

Following the virtual kick-off, the programme is located in London and in Cambridge, UK.
