The SCC appoints Honorary President of the Board and formally appoints Vice Chair

On 6 June 2024, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the United Kingdom (SCC) held its 117th Annual General Meeting. At the meeting, the SCC appointed H.E. Mr. Stefan Gullgren, Ambassador of Sweden to the UK, as Honorary President of the Board, and Hélène Barnekow, Gaia Leadership to formally assume her role as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. 

With the departure of Mikaela Kumlin Granit, the former Ambassador of Sweden to the UK and SCC’s Honorary President of the Board, we are pleased to welcome her successor, H.E. Mr. Stefan Gullgren, to the role of Honorary President of the Board. Mr. Gullgren’s 30 years of service in the name of Sweden have taken him from the far east to the far west of Europe. He has served as Ambassador to Poland and Ukraine and at the Embassy of Sweden in Moscow, and since 2023, he has been the Ambassador of Sweden to the UK.

In November, Hélène Barnekow, Gaia Leadership was appointed by the Board of Directors as the new Vice Chair to represent the Chamber in Sweden after Viveka Hirdman Ryrberg, Investor AB, stepped down. Hélène has been an active and engaged SCC Board Member since 2020 and was formally appointed as Vice Chair at the Annual General Meeting. In the role as Vice Chair, she is responsible for promoting the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK in Sweden.
