SCC UK Scholarship Programme

We are proud to offer talented and creative young professionals the opportunity to join the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK and to gain international business experience through the SCC UK Scholarship Programme - all made possible through generous scholarships grants and donations. The Scholarship Programme lasts for 12 months and has served as a platform to launch many successful alumni careers over the years.

London and the UK has attracted Swedish talent for centuries, and with its vibrant atmosphere and diversity, London has a lot to offer both its residents and businesses. For many, making it in the UK is seen as the gateway to the rest of the world. This is probably one of the reasons for the 1,000+ Swedish businesses with a footprint here and the 100,000+ Swedes residing in the country. Applying to our scholarship programme gives you the unique opportunity to join the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK for a full year in London – the world’s leading financial centre, and Europe’s business capital.

What we offer

The Chamber is now recruiting Scholars in partnership with our esteemed scholarship donors, offering a full-year role focusing on one or more key sector verticals. Scholars will take on both specific responsibilities within these sectors — such as leading sector-focused conferences and managing SME programmes — and support the broader team in achieving its strategic goals. As a Scholar, you’ll be an integral member of the Chamber, directly contributing to its daily operations and making a lasting impact across the Swedish-British business community.

Qualifications

Most scholarships require applicants to be enrolled or to have recently completed their studies at a bachelor's or master's level at a Swedish university. If you don't fulfill these requirements, a 6 month internship could be an alternative route for you.

The application process for the 2025/2026 scholarships is now closed. However, we welcome spontaneous applications at any time.

This is a general application process - candidates do not apply for a specific scholarship but are matched with the most suitable opportunity as they arise. History

The first formal scholarship programme was launched back in the early 1980s, through the Wall Foundation setup by Dr. Anders Wall. However, internships have been provided throughout the Chamber’s history, including to H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, back in 1972. Today, many of its alumni are business leaders at large multinational corporates, senior marketing directors or founders and entrepreneurs.

A great way to gain experience and broaden your network

I worked at the Events and Programmes team, together with two wonderful colleagues. When working at the Chamber, you get the opportunity to meet and interact with both great business leaders at large corporates, as well as entrepreneurs from small start-ups.

As a scholar, my work also included being partly responsible for the SCC Young Professionals community, including recruiting new members and hosting events aimed at young professionals in London. Moving to London has been such an adventure since I have never lived abroad before, and working at the Chamber is a great way to get to know new people. I encourage everyone to apply for the scholarships, they truly can lead to great career opportunities.

Perfect stepping stone towards launching an international career

I only have positive things to share about my year at the Chamber. I especially enjoyed the responsibilities that came with the Scholar role, that I was encouraged to take initiatives early on, to lead my own projects and to come up with new solutions or approaches. You become a tight-knit team at the office, which is great as you always have someone to explore London with.

Gain invaluable business experience

Being a part of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK (SCC) has without a doubt been my greatest professional adventure. The best part of the job is definitely the people

Working at the Chamber was truly an unforgettable experience in so many ways. From day one, I was introduced to an inspiring environment.
